Through technology, venture investment, and community-rooted businesses, I build and invest in ventures that expand opportunity and strengthen the communities that shape us.
Through technology, culture, and community, Beto builds and invests in ventures that shape the future. He is the co-founder and CEO of Irys Technologies, a cybersecurity company serving government and industry, and co-founded Lucien, building the security layer that makes AI safe for organizations to adopt at scale. Beto is also an angel investor backing entrepreneurs and small businesses, and co-owns community-rooted enterprises like Mural House Coffee Roasters and Tío Pelón Salsita, a family-run salsa company. His work reflects a single mission: to expand opportunity and strengthen the fabric of community through enterprise.
“...Entrepreneurship is more than building companies. It is building possibility, creating opportunity where it does not yet exist, and investing in the future we want to see.”
Across sectors and stages, these ventures reflect a commitment to innovation, resilience, and long-term impact.
Irys is a cybersecurity company engineering next-generation solutions for critical operations in the public and private sectors. Its platforms span asset management (RAPID MX), FOIA modernization, federal government and enterprise privacy systems, and U.S. Air Force workforce technology, bringing clarity and security to complex challenges across government and industry.
Beto is an angel investor in technology, consumer, and community-driven companies that expand opportunity and entrepreneurship. As a member of Alamo Angels, he backs early-stage founders and helps fuel San Antonio’s growing startup ecosystem. His investments include Nopalera, a Latina-founded plant-based body care brand.
Mural Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee shop and roastery in San Antonio’s Warehouse 5. Serving hand-roasted coffee, breakfast tacos, and pastries, it was built as a welcoming space for neighbors, students, and families. Its beans are stocked at Whole Foods and retailers across Texas.
Tío Pelón’s Salsita is a San Antonio-based gourmet salsa inspired by a treasured Norteño family recipe. Since 2015, its signature red jalapeño flavor has earned recognition from H-E-B’s Quest for the Best and the Texas Salsa Festival.
Lucien is building the security layer that makes AI safe to adopt. Its hardware-accelerated firewall stops attacks against AI systems in real time, using far less compute than model-based tools, so organizations get stronger protection at lower cost and a lighter energy footprint.
